Description: Jason Tiensvold created this masterful Bowie back in 2004, just before being honored as a master smith. It has been in a private collection since then and has been meticulously cared for. It has never been used to cut and by all appearances it could have been made yesterday!
The blade is forged from Jason's Persian Ribbon damascus. This pattern has a bold ribbon moving across a complex background and is both interesting viewed from a distance and fascinating from up close. He has heat colored to blade to a golden sheen. The damascus was forged from 15N20 and 1084 carbon steels for a keen, long lasting edge. The flat ground blade will be very high performance.
The blade meets perfectly with the satin finished nickel silver guard. This, in turn, leads into the ancient walrus ivory handle. The bark ivory has tremendous caramel tones laid across a burnt cream background.
The balance, fit, finish, and feel in the hand are exceptional.
