Description: Blair Todd, out of Gresham, Oregon, makes an amazing culinary knife. Todd has been a full time maker since 2014. He is quickly becoming well known for his high performance chef's knives.
This high performance chef's knife is a perfect choice as a primary knife in the kitchen. The long, deep-bellied blade is well suited for slicing vegetables and meats. The gentle arch of the cutting edge is perfect for a rocking chopping motion with plenty of finger clearance over a cutting board.
The blade is formed from 52100 carbon steel. Many knife users and knifemakers feel that 52100 is among the best steels currently used to make knives. It provides a super-keen cutting edge that won't quit. Because this knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to avoid rust and oxidation. Both the blade and tang are distal tapered for perfect balance and cutting efficiency. Blair created a resist on the blade and deeply etched it. This deep etch provides a slightly uneven surface, which encourages slices to fall away from the side of the knife rather than sticking.
The handle combines blue acrylic resin with stabilized sheoak burl wood. The scales are set on a tapered full tang. This ensures strength, durability, and one heck of a beautiful handle.
The knife is perfectly balanced and will make chopping truly enjoyable!
