Description: Gary Rodewald is an exceptional knifemaker and this is a tremendous example of his work. Though this knife will be a high performing knife, it would be equally at home in any collection.
The Back Country Hunter was forged to shape using Gary's own 200 layer+ maiden's hair pattern damascus. The damascus was forged from 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels, ensuring a high performing, high contrast steel.
A silicon bronze guard joins seamlessly to an exhibition grade amboyna burl handle. By using stabilized wood, Rodewald ensures that this knife will hold up beautifully when used hard. The grain pattern has an intricate and swirling figure which nicely complements the twisted maiden's hair damascus. Warm red/orange tones bring warmth and vibrancy to the piece.
The knife is accompanied by a hand tooled custom leather sheath.
Excellent fit and finish throughout!
