Description: Daniel Winkler became a fulltime knifemaker in 1988 and received accreditation as an American Bladesmith Society master bladesmith in 1993. He has spent more than three decades studying and perfecting the nuances and handmade knives. Winkler Knives is a custom manufacturing operation that represents the evolution of Mastersmith Daniel Winklerís knifemaking expertise coupled with the needs and field experience of Tier 1 Special Operations Teams from around the world.
This tool was crafted in the Winkler Knives shop in Northwestern North Carolina by skilled Blue Ridge Mountain artisans. It was created to provide unfailing performance and to last a lifetime. The Winkler Knives touch mark represents their unwavering commitment to producing the highest quality knives, axes, and breaching tools available.
The Jaeger is a mid-size fixed blade. It is the result of an epic and laborious collaboration between the Winkler Knives team and Mastersmith Jason Knight. Jason's style is immediately recognizable so it's no surprise these are expected to be a very popular collaboration! Jason's maker's mark is on the left side of the blade. The Winkler Knives mark is on the right side of the blade.
The blade is formed from high performing 80CrV2 carbon steel with a non-glare Caswell finish. A full tang ensures strength and durability while an aggressive distal taper provides perfect balance. Jimping along the spine and contoured handle scales provide plenty of traction in a variety of grip options. Maori-inspired tribal markings provide a beautiful, secure grip. A lanyard hole allows for the easy addition of paracord for extra retention in hand.
The versatile Kydex lined leather sheath can be worn vertically or horizontally for right- or left-hand draw with simple adjustments and is fully MOLLE compatible.
