Description: This Mel Nishiuchi folder is a spectacular knife! This is a rare folder made with wood scales. Nishiuchi most frequently works with precision contoured stone scales.
The spearpoint blade is formed from ATS-34 stainless steel. It features and heirloom quality satin finish. The blade has smooth action and is easily opened with the thumb disc. It was heat treated by Paul Bos with a sub zero quench.
The scales are formed from presentation grade curly koa. The wood scales feature a tight, consistent fiddleback pattern. They are attached using Nishiuchi's hidden pin system.
Mokume gane bolsters were forged from brass, nickel silver, and copper by Devin Thomas. They are dovetailed to the wood scales for a perfect fit. The titanium liners and backbar are anodized.
Smooth, consistent action with a well centered blade. This is the 342nd knife that Nishiuchi has made.
Exceptional fit and finish throughout!
