Description: Swedish knifemaker Greger Forselius has a flair for design. This long Puukko shows his work at its best!
The multi-bar damascus blade was hand forged by Ukrainian bladesmith Konstantin Lysenko. Beginning with carbon steels, Lysenko forged an explosion pattern edge and spine with a central mosaic damascus bar.
The elegant handle combines cross cut mammoth ivory with dark toned bog oak. This wood has been buried in a Nordic peat bog for hundreds or sometimes thousands of years. The extremely low oxygen conditions of the bog protect the wood from normal decay, while the underlying peat provides acidic conditions where iron salts and other minerals react with the tannins in the wood, gradually giving it a distinct dark brown to almost black color. Thin pewter spacers provide a nice contrast.
The knife is accompanied by a traditional Swedish single seamed leather sheath.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
