Description: South African knifemaker, Jan Wahl, is a maker to watch. He became a full time knife maker in 2009 and joined the South African Knife Makers Guild in 2012. Jan has excellent attention to detail. He recently started making folders and the results have been incredible. The blade is perfectly centered with smooth action.
The blade is formed from N690 stainless steel, created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. By differentially polishing the blade, Andre has emphasized his clean grind lines.
Like the blade, the handle is constructed for strength and durability. Burlap Micarta scales are nicely fit to dovetailed anodized titanium bolsters. The scales are nicely domed to fill out the hand. The scales are set on anodized titanium liners.
Nice work throughout!
