Description: South African knifemaker, Jan Wahl, is a maker to watch. He became a full time knife maker in 2009 and joined the South African Knife Makers Guild in 2012. Jan has excellent attention to detail.
The 4 inch skinner blade is made from satin finished N690 stainless steel. N690 is a stainless steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. The spine has been nicely rounded for comfort and fileworked for a secure thumb purchase.
Stabilized maple burl makes an incredibly beautiful handle. The stainless steel bolster is nicely fit to the scales with no gapping. The bolster was meticulously hand textured. The handle is nicely carved to swell in the middle and end for a perfect grip. This is a knife you won't want to put down.
This knife includes a vegetable tanned, hand tooled, leather pouch style sheath.
