Description: Daniel Winkler became a fulltime knifemaker in 1988 and received accreditation as an American Bladesmith Society master bladesmith in 1993. He has spent more than three decades studying and perfecting the nuances and handmade knives. Winkler Knives is a custom manufacturing operation that represents the evolution of Mastersmith Daniel Winkler’s knifemaking expertise coupled with the needs and field experience of Tier 1 Special Operations Teams from around the world.
This tool was crafted in the Winkler Knives shop in Northwestern North Carolina by skilled Blue Ridge Mountain artisans. It was createed to provide unfailing performance and to last a lifetime. The Winkler Knives touch mark represents their unwavering commitment to producing the highest quality knives, axes, and breaching tools available.
The Knight Dagger is the result of an epic and laborious collaboration between the Winkler Knives team and Mastersmith Jason Knight. The Knight Dagger draws inspiration from the Fairbairn–Sykes fighting knife made famous throughout World War II. This proven knife design was carried by British Commandos, Airborne Forces, SAS, U.S. Marine Raiders, U.S. Army Rangers, and many more elite military units around the world as their primary fighting knife. Jason's maker's mark is on the left side of the blade. The Winkler Knives mark is on the right side.
The blade is formed from high performing 80CrV2 carbon steel with a non-glare Caswell finish. The dagger grind tapers into an aggressive point.
The handle is contoured from Micarta and features a shrouded tang built from black and white G10. This prevents the need to clean the handle after the knife is used and reduces weight while ensuring strength and durability. A lanyard hole allows for the easy addition of paracord for extra retention in hand.
The versatile Kydex sheath can be worn vertically or horizontally for right- or left-hand draw with simple adjustments.
