Description: Mastersmith Jay Hendrickson's knives have always inspired me. There is a gentlemanly elegance to his work that matches his personality. Silver scrolls are inlaid into presentation grade curly ash (Fraxinus nigra). The antiqued, differentially dyed wood gives an heirloom quality to this exceptional Jay Hendrickson classic clip point hunter.
Jay began by forging the 1084 carbon steel blade closely to shape. The appleseed grind is a hallmark of Jay's work. Jay believes strongly in the hand forging process and it clearly shows in this knife. By forging the blade to shape, Jay ensures optimal edge retention and blade strength.
The handle is formed from presentation grade curly ash wood. Scrolls of fine silver are meticulously inlaid into each side of the handle. Copper spacers set between the wood and tang provides warm tones. The contoured ash feels great in hand -- this is a knife you won't want to put down! A distal taper to both blade and full tang ensures a perfect balance. All finishing and embellishments -- of both knife and sheath -- are completed by Hendrickson.
This knife is accompanied by a hand tooled, high quality brown leather sheath. The front is made from kudu leather.
