Description: The love for gastronomy, quality and construction, did not take long to mix together and in a somewhat magical way to give Stelios Christos Drakopoulos (also known as Dikristo) a life purpose: The first 100% Greek handmade chef's knives. This exquisite Dikristo chef's knife was made by Greek knifemaker Drakopoulos Stelios. A native of Athens Greece, Stelios was born in 1983. He is a home cook, food lover and knifemaker.
The gyuto is the essential kitchen knife. It's used for all the same purposes as a chef's knife—all-around food preparation, but the gyuto has less curve than a Western chef's knife, which means it contacts the cutting board along more of its length, so more food is cut per slice. This chef's knife has a gentle roll off the tip compared to the large roll of a Western style knife, so it needs to be lifted less, making cutting more efficient. Once you try a Dikristo Gyuto, you'll wonder what you ever did without it.
The blade is made from premium Elmax steel. Elmax is Uddeholm’s high-end super steel alloy and it is especially designed for knives. Its high content of vanadium, molybdenum and chromium contribute to extremely high wear and corrosion resistance as well as edge retention. The spine is nicely rounded for a comfortable, secure grip. A cryogenic heat treatment ensures the Elmax blade has the highest performance possible.
The exquisite handle is made from a stabilized maple burl. The handle scales are set on a full tang for strength and durability. Stainless steel bolsters are precision fit to the natural wood handles. By using stabilized woods, Stelios ensures that this knife will hold up beautifully to the high demands of either a home or commercial kitchen.
Stelios created this high performing chef's knife to be true to traditional Japanese knives. The thin, high performing blade will be hard to put down. This knife comes packed in a handmade leather knife roll.
