Description: Alaskan knifemaker, Master Smith Adam DesRosiers is well known for his elegant, hard working knives.
Chef's knives are the general purpose knife in the kitchen. From slicing tomatoes to chopping onions, this knife will get the task done perfectly. It is sure to be a kitchen favorite.
Adam began forging this integral chef's knife beginning with O1 and 15N20 carbon steels. The pattern is immediately captivating. By forging closely to shape, Adam ensures optimal grain structure for a keen, long lasting edge. The blade is beautifully thin for clean, perfect cuts. The bolster is fully integral to the blade, with the damascus pattern moving seamlessly from bolster to blade. This technique, a hallmark of Adam's work, has superior structural integrity and requires a particularly talented smith.
The handle is formed from presentation grade maple burl. It is nicely sculpted for a secure, comfortable grip - swelling at the palm, moving into a slimmer waist, and swelling again at the end of the handle. The stabilized wood will hold up beautifully to hard use, though this knife would feel at home in most any collection. A bronze spacer adds nice contrast.
Exceptional work throughout!
