Description: This is an elegant, hand forged Personal Bowie by Gary Rodewald. It is exquisite. The nimble blade has fast movement. Whether used out in the wild or a cherished knife in a collection, the Bitterroot Personal Bowie is sure to be a favorite knife.
The W2 carbon steel blade was forged to shape. Gary is an outstanding bladesmith, creating knives with exceptional edge holding as well as exceptional beauty. Prior to quenching, the spine was coated with clay. The resulting differential heat treatment line (known as a hamon) travels across the blade in a gentle, undulating pattern. This technique results in a soft, supportive spine and a long lasting edge, as well as a stunning detail to the blade's finish.
The handle is carved from stabilized curly koa. The double guard is formed from nickel silver. This is a knife you won't want to put down.
Accompanied by a hand tooled leather sheath by Nez Perce Saddlery.
Excellent fit and finish throughout!
