Description: This is an exquisite slip joint folder by Mastersmith Aaron Wilburn.
The clip point blade is formed from high performing Pool and Eye damascus forged from 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels. The high contrast damascus ensures a keen, long lasting edge. A cryogenic heat treatment between tempering cycles ensures particularly good performance. The action is smooth with a firm half stop. A long thumb nick makes it easy to open and close. The hollow ground blade will be easy to sharpen.
Ancient walrus ivory scales are surrounded by front and rear stainless steel bolsters. The front bolster is hand fluted. Hand domed pins secure the scales to fileworked 410 stainless steel liners. The back spring is made from matching damascus.
Excellent work throughout!
