Description: Mastersmith Jerry Lairson's work is exceptional. His designs are elegant, sturdy, and high performing -- in fact, Jerry himself is often surprised at what his clients tell him they've done with his knives! This competition cutting knife fits all of the ABS standards for cutting competitions.
By forging 5160 carbon steel to shape, Lairson ensures the already tough steel forms an optimal grain structure. The heat blued blade is razor sharp.
Teak scales, secured with hammered brass pins, are set on a full tang for strength and durability. By distal tapering the tang and blade, Jerry creates a perfect balance. A tuning fork has been milled into the tang to dampen shock while batoning and chopping. The contours of the handle provide a comfortable grip and a knife that functions like an extension of your hand. A lanyard hole offers a variety of carry options.
This large sized competition cutting knife is suitable for a wide variety of batoning and chopping tasks.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
