Description: I was very excited when renowned knifemaker Kikuo Matsuda introduced me to his friend Tomoki Takahashi at the 2014 Seki Show. Takahashi-san is 28 years old (as of 2017) and has been working with Kikuo since 2011. Before that, he was an engineer and was making some knives. He likes knife making and working next to Kikuo has definitely given him a leg up on the competition!
This Push Dagger is an exceptional knife! The sturdy blade finishes in a thrusting modified tanto point. Takahashi made the blade from OU-31, which is legendary for its durability and edge holding. OU-31 is a Japanese PM (powdered metallurgical) steel with micro fine crystalline structure that embodies many of the best attributes needed for knives. The steel is hardened to 64 Hrc (very hard!) and has more than 3 times the toughness of D2. The blade features a high performance Hamaguri-ba (convex) grind and is razor sharp. The clip is fully sharpened.
The hand carved black G-10 handle is perfectly shaped and fits securely in the hand. It sits on a substantial full tang for strength and durability.
Accompanied by hand fitted Kydex sheath with DOTS belt clip. Exceptional work throughout!
