Description: South African knifemaker, Jan Wahl, is a maker to watch. He became a full time knife maker in 2009 and joined the South African Knife Makers Guild in 2012. Jan has excellent attention to detail.
The 4 inch drop point blade is made from satin finished N690 stainless steel. N690 is created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds onto it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. The spine has been nicely rounded for comfort.
Russet bushwillow handle scales are set on a distal tapered full tang. Combretum hereroense, commonly known as the russet bushwillow is a small tree that is found from eastern Africa to northern South Africa. The scales are nicely contoured to provide a sure, comfortable grip, which is augmented by a finger choil. Wahl ensures a perfect fit by dovetailing the scales and bolsters. This is a knife you won't want to put down.
This knife includes a vegetable tanned, hand tooled, leather pouch style sheath.
Excellent fit throughout!
