Description: Swedish bladesmith Michael Andersson is a force to be reckoned with. Unlike many Nordic knifemakers, Michael believes very strongly in sole authorship, from forging the blade to shape, to creating his own damascus, to sewing the sheath. His style is immediately identifiable and is very dramatic. Micke is one of the few Swedish makers to make such large, impressive bowie knives.
The massive carbon steel Bowie was forged to shape from 20C carbon steel. The textured, antiqued steel is immediately captivating.
The oval guard and ferrule were both forged from antiqued mild steel. Polished steel spacers surround the ferrule. The handle is formed from presentation grade, stabilized redwood burl. A central mosaic pin adds nice contrast. The handle is tremendously comfortable -- this is a knife you won't want to put down!
