Description: Renowned Japanese knifemaker Kikuo Matsuda has been grinding blades for over 40 years and is a 5th generation knife grinder. His unique, dramatic grinds are well known throughout the knife industry. Kikuo joined his father's knife grinding business at 15 years old and learned the grinding technique from his father. Kiku's skill at the grinder has become legendary.
Betsu-Kamui, meaning River God, is an exceptional knife. It features an upswept skinning blade with a thin Hamaguri-ba (convex) grind. Super Gold 2 powdered metallurgical stainless steel is among the best edge holding stainless steels used in Japan.
The thumb ramp is textured. OD green canvas micarta scales were hand contoured for a secure, comfortable grip. The handle is completed with a lanyard hole on the end.
