Description: Curtis Iovito and Mark Carey, co-founders of Spartan Blades, LLC, possess over 40 years of combined military service and experience. Since their retirement from US Army Special Forces they have been involved in the development, marketing, and program management of tactical gear and ballistic armor products.
This knife is Spartan Blades third collaboration with world renowned knife maker, William "Bill" Harsey Jr. The Model II was produced with the combined goal of creating a sturdy knife that doubles as an excellent field and combat knife.
The blade is made from American-made CPM-S35VN with a black PVD ZrN coating. This fine-grained powdered metallurgical (PM) stainless steel is tough, chip resistant and can be sharpened to a razor edge. Deep jimping provides a secure thumb purchase.
The full tang and handle provide a neutral balance in the user's hand. The ergonomic and textured canvas Micarta handle provides for a comfortable confident grip when wet or dry. A lanyard is available to offer additional security.
