Description: Mastersmith Daniel Winkler created the Winkler II line in 2010. It is an alternate approach to an established tradition. Winkler Knives II is the result of processes Daniel Winkler developed over the past few years in order to provide axes and knives to teams within United States Army Special Operations and US Naval Special Warfare. Each piece in this collection bears the Winkler Knives II touchmark.
The Blue Ridge Hunter is perfect for those looking for a small but rugged fixed blade. The blade is formed from 3/16" 80CRV2 carbon steel with a non-glare Caswell finish. Sculpted maple scales are set on the full tang, which has been skeletonized to reduce overall weight. Gen 2 Blue Ridge Hunters have a tang that meets evenly with the scales whereas the rounded tang on a Gen 1 Blue Ridge Hunter is proud of the scales. The handle is completed with a lanyard hole.
The versatile leather-covered Kydex sheath can be worn vertically or horizontally for right- or left-hand draw with simple adjustments and is fully MOLLE compatible.
