Description: Danish knifemaker Michael West has a tremendous sense of design and craftsmanship. He's been making knives since 1980 and has won multiple awards for his designs in Danish, Scandinavian, and international contests. Michael uses nothing but first class steel and exquisite materials in his knives.
The mirror polished blade is formed from high performing RWL-34 stainless steel. RWL-34 is a premium powder metallurgy cutlery steel manufactured by ERASTEEL in Söderfors, Sweden. Because it is manufactured from rapidly solidified powders, the microstructure of the steel is much more uniform. This gives the steel much higher strength and durability while maintaining very high wear resistance.
The handle is made from a beautiful section of briar wood. A frame formed from Argentium silver imitates a full tang! The end of the frame was cast to perfectly match the natural texturing of the wood. The results are stunning! Besides making a more durable, harder and more pure alloy of silver, Argentium silver is tarnish resistant.
This knife includes a handmade brown leather sheath with an Argentium silver cast end. It also includes a presentation display stand and a black zipper pouch that fits both the knife and stand. The display stand combines a fine ebony wood base with an Argentium silver support.
Excellent fit and finish throughout!
