Description: This is an exquisite slip joint folder by Mastersmith Aaron Wilburn.
The clip point blade is formed from high performing CPM154 stainless steel. This powdered metallurgical stainless steel has particularly small crystalline structure, ensuring a keen, long lasting edge. A cryogenic heat treatment between tempering cycles ensures particularly good performance. The blade is meticulously hand satin finished. The action is smooth with a firm half stop. A long thumb nick makes it easy to open and close. The hollow ground blade will be easy to sharpen.
Ancient walrus ivory scales are surrounded by front and rear stainless steel bolsters. The front bolster is hand fluted. Hand domed pins secure the scales to fileworked 410 stainless steel liners. The back spring is made from CPM154 stainless steel.
Excellent work throughout!
