Description: Barry Gallagher is one of the knifemakers that developed the Montana Boy style of folding knives. His work is meticulous with tremendous attention paid to every detail. Though he creates fewer knives these days, I'm always excited to see something new from him. This folder was made in 2016 and is in new condition. It has never been used to cut and by all appearances it could have been made yesterday.
The drop point blade and bolsters were forged from matching damascus. The tight twist pattern immediately grabs attention. The blade has smooth action and is perfectly centered.
Mammoth ivory scales are dovetailed to the damascus bolsters for a perfect fit. Mammoth ivory of this quality is very rare. The green tones in the ivory are a result of minerals in the soil moving into the ivory across millennia. The 15N20 carbon steel liners are textured and heat colored. They surround the hand fileworked 1084 carbon steel backbar. Screws throughout are hand fileworked and heat colored.
Excellent work throughout!
