Description: Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley's knives are unique and immediately identifiable. From artistry of design to skill of implementation, Rick's knives always command attention. Rick creates folders with some of the smoothest action to be found. The perfectly center blade is easily opened using the right handed thumb stud. A faceted emerald is set in the thumb stud.
The mosaic damascus blade and bolsters were forged by Rick from 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels. The steel combines a basketweave pattern with Rick's Fighting Irish pattern. Forged directly into the steel, leprechauns face off, fists raised in challenge. A 24k gold frame is inlaid around each bolster.
Mammoth ivory scales are a very rare green tone resulting from mineral deposits that were surrounding the buried ivory across millennia. Rick held onto this ivory for years, waiting to create this Irish-themed folder. Screws throughout are fileworked and heat colored. Dovetailing ensures a perfect fit between bolsters and scales.
15N20 carbon steel liners have been stippled and heat colored. The backbar is engraved, both inside and out.
Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley has a tremendous level of precision and as you would expect, the fit and finish is exceptional!
