Description: Bob Lay's designs are well thought through and show an amazing degree of craftsmanship. This Personal Hunter shows his work at its best.
The blue maple burl handle has a nice mix of light and dark tones and a swirling figure. A black buffalo horn spacer adds excellent contrast. Alternating stainless steel and black fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to changes in temperature and humidity. The polished stainless steel guard and butt cap create a perfect balance in the hand.
By mirror polishing the flats of the blade and satin finishing the grinds, Bob creates a knife with grind lines that are very dramatic. The blade has been heat treated to 59Rc for optimal edge retention. CPM154 is a powdered metallurgical stainless steel made by US steel maker, Crucible. It ensures a very long lasting, high performance edge.
The knife is accompanied by a hand tooled sheath and cordura storage pouch as well as a certificate from the maker.
