Description: Alaskan knifemaker, Master Smith Adam DesRosiers is well known for his elegant, hard working knives.
Utility knives are perfect for slicing produce, meats, and fish. Whether slicing bell peppers and tomatoes or removing silverskin, utility knives are among the most important knives in the kitchen. This integral damascus utility is sure to be a kitchen favorite.
Adam began forging this integral utility knife beginning with O1, 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels. The tight twist pattern is immediately captivating. By forging closely to shape, Adam ensures optimal grain structure for a keen, long lasting edge. The blade is beautifully thin for clean, perfect cuts. The bolster is fully integral to the blade, with the damascus pattern moving seamlessly from bolster to blade. This technique, a hallmark of Adam's work, has superior structural integrity and requires a particularly talented smith.
The handle is formed from presentation grade curly koa. It is nicely sculpted for a secure, comfortable grip - swelling at the palm, moving into a slimmer waist, and swelling again at the end of the handle. The stabilized wood will hold up beautifully to hard use, though this knife would feel at home in most any collection. A nickel silver spacer adds nice contrast.
Exceptional work throughout!
