Description: Captain Bunshichi Koyama is a tremendously creative knifemaker from Japan. His designs are truly innovative -- often combining many colored titanium with materials such as mammoth ivory. Koyama-san is best known for his folders. Here, he has put his creativity toward a tremendous utility knife.
The blade and full tang are formed from a stainless damascus blade with a premium VG10 stainless steel core. The hollow ground blade is tremendous thin geometry and will be a spectacular tool.
The handle design is influenced by Koyama-san's folders. Anodized titanium 'liners' are set on the full tang. An anodized titanium 'pivot' adds accent. A damascus 'bolster' is dovetailed to mammoth ivory scales. The presentation mammoth ivory bark combines very rare blue/green and caramel tones. These, in turn, are set on anodized titanium spacers for contrast.
The knife will be at home in any collection, but will be easy to keep close at hand using the pouch style leather sheath.
Excellent work throughout!
