Description: Mastersmith Harvey Dean's eye for design and style shine through his work. I was very excited when I heard that he had begun to make straight razors a couple years ago and even more so when I finally got to see his work. He has spent the last two years refining his razors -- and using them himself. He was very lucky to be able to get advice from renowned straight razor maker, Tim Zowada.
The 11/16th" O1 carbon steel blade was hollow ground for a tremendously thin, high performing edge. The steel was brought to 62-63 Hrc for a particularly long lasting edge. This razor has a square point.
Handle scales were made from hand selected Arizona desert ironwood. A stainless steel escutcheon is inlaid into the left scale. A cow bone wedge adds just the right amount of contrast.
This is an absolutely spectacular custom straight razor. It is accompanied by a traditional cardboard razor box.
