Description: Steven Rapp has been a custom knifemaker for almost 30 years now, and a full-time knife maker for the last 16 years. Steven's knives are extremely collectible and he only makes 10-20 knives a year -- with almost a two year wait. Steven is well known for his ability to reproduce antique knives with authenticity, as well as making unique knives of his design.
This skinning knife, which was made in the 1980s, is in mint condition. It does not appear to ever have been used to cut and by all appearances it could have been made yesterday.
The upswept blade is hollow ground with clean, well executed lines. It is made from 440C stainless steel, and is meticulously mirror polished.
The handle is of premium Sambar stag. Sambar stag of this quality is rarely found today. The handle is completed with a nickel silver pommel.
The knife is accompanied by a custom black leather sheath with retention strap.
This is a tremendous trailing point skinner. It is very rare to find Rapp's work available -- and it will be equally at home in a collection or used out in the field.
