Description: Garri Dadyan, born in Baku, Azerbaijan, was named a National Master Artist of the Soviet Union in 1985 for his unparalleled mastery of repousse metal work. In 1993 he became a member of the UNESCO International Federation of Artists in recognition of his superior artistry. A master metal worker, Mr. Dadyan employs the techniques of chasing, repousse, filigree and granulation, wax casting, engraving and niello with equal virtuosity. Working in solid sterling silver with precious stones, Garri brings old world mastery to the new world that few can emulate.
Silver Vines is an exceptional folding knife! Garri began with the Boker Plus A2. The knife was designed by renowned knifemakers Andre Thorburn and Andre van Heerden (A2). This knife was the first collaborative effort between Boker and A2, who have a worldwide following for their elegant and refined designs.
The blade is formed from VG10 stainless steel. It features dramatic grind lines. The fine horizontal satin finish on the blade enhances the character of the A2. The special front flipper facilitates fast and convenient deployment, which is further enhanced with the cage ball bearing system. The blade is well centered and has smooth action.
Garry replaced the original scales and backbar with his artful work. The scales are formed from solid Sterling silver. Three dimensional silver vines writhe and intertwine. Each scale is inlaid with 11 garnets, 4 citrine, 1 aquamarine, and 1 sapphire. Each of the stones are natural (not lab grown), meticulously faceted, and hand set. The scales are set on the anodized titanium liners and surround he Sterling silver backbar, which has been carved to resemble a twisted rope.
Absolutely exceptional!
