Description: There is something about a beautiful, custom push dagger that always grabs my attention. Push daggers always evoke a time in history when gentlemen were sure to carry a knife such as this -- for defense or offense -- and the difference between a gentleman and a scoundrel was pretty small.
Anders Hogstrom formed the blade of this push dagger from stainless damascus. The twist pattern steel immediately grabs attention. The 4-1/2 inch blade starts out wide and tapers to a vicious point. Each side features a hand cut droplet groove.
The handle is an absolutely spectacular section of cross-cut ancient walrus ivory. The ivory's natural shape could not have been better for this knife. The oval shape has a natural bulge on one side that allowed Anders to leave the natural outline of the tusk, maintaining all the outer bark. This is a unique piece of ancient ivory to say the least!
The fittings are formed from textured, blackened bronze. The handle is completed with a fileworked stainless steel finial.
The leather custom boot sheath makes it easy to keep this knife close at hand.
