Description: Aaron Wilburn became a journeyman smith in June of 2009 and a master smith in 2013. This exceptional Feather Damascus Bowie was made while Aaron was a journeyman smith. It has been in a private collection and has been meticulously cared for. By all appearances, Aaron could have made it yesterday.
The long, broad blade was forged to shape from his own damascus. The complex feather pattern is both bold enough to grab attention from a distance and to keep fascination when examined up close. Feather pattern damascus has become a hallmark of Aaron's work. His control over this pattern is particularly good and the results always grab my attention.
The handle is formed from a solid hippo tooth, maintaining its natural shape. The large tooth combines caramel and cream tones. The S-guard is formed from antiqued mild steel. A damascus ferrule is surrounded by thin nickel silver spacers.
The bowie is accompanied by a hand stitched, hand tooled leather sheath.
Exceptional work throughout!
