Description: Mastersmith Bill Burke based this Shop Rat on knives by Mastersmith David Lisch. This brute de forge style knife show's Burke's skill at the forge.
Bill forged this shop rat very closely to shape. The 52100 carbon steel blade and handle feature a forge finish along the flats and move into a satin finished grind. His choice of steel, as well as his skillful heat treatment ensures that this is not only a beautiful, simple knife, but also a high performing tool. Bill used the same heat treatment that he developed in conjunction with Mastersmith Ed Fowler. This technique results in knives that have truly exceptional edge holding. The differential treatment results in a keen, long lasting edge, with a softer, supportive spine. The handle is completed with a looped tail
Excellent work throughout.
