Description: David Broadwell is well known for his attention to detail and the flowing lines of his carved blades. This exceptional carved dagger has been in a private collection since it was first made. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition. By all appearances, David could have made it yesterday.
The long, dagger blade is formed from damascus forged from carbon steels. The twist pattern damascus is a perfect choice for dagger blades and shows off the pattern beautifully. The ricasso is carved in flowing arcs.
The handle is carved from a lavender jade, which is far rarer than this gem’s green and white varieties. The handle is completed with a damascus pommel. The floral pommel guards an 18ct amethyst.
Given the exquisite level of work shown in this dagger, it is no surprise that it won Best of Show at the 1996 Las Vegas Custom Knife Show. It is clearly David Broadwell's work at its best!
