Description: As an avid hunter, Randy knows how a good hunting knife should perform. He loves to "field-test" his designs and feels that a quality knife should not only look great, but perform well as a tool. This one-of-a-kind drop point skinner is no exception.
The hollow ground blade is made from powdered metallurgical CPM 154 stainless steel for the excellent edge retention a hard use knife demands. It was hardened to Hrc 59-60 by Paul Bos to ensure that the edge will remain razor sharp through the most difficult tasks, yet will be easy to sharpen. The spine has been nicely rounded for comfort while skinning. The reverse side of the blade is etched with a bear exploring the mountains.
The handle is formed from 7 stacked layers. Brown Micarta surrounds honey nougat resin and moves into a large section of ironwood. Black fiber spacers alternate with nickel silver, assisting the handle to adjust to changes in humidity and temperature. A mirror polished nickel silver guard and pommel complete the handle.
The knife is accompanied by a pouch style leather sheath by Sonya Lee and a storage pouch. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
