Description: Raymond Richard's knives have a timeless grace about them that comes from a family heritage of knifemaking and the inclusion of hard to find materials.
This field knife, with its natural downturned stag handle has a great feel! The blade is hand forged from carbon steel recovered from an antique saw blade. Ray is a true master at the forge, regularly teaching other bladesmiths better forging techniques. A differential heat treatment ensures that the spine is soft and resilient, whereas the edge is hard and will maintain a keen edge. A distal taper offers excellent balance.
The handle is made from stag. The natural texturing of the stag feels great. Both the butt cap and bolster are made from antique wrought iron. This knife includes a 3 ply pouch style leather sheath with leather fringe.
Excellent fit and finish throughout!
