Description: South African knifemaker George Muller is well known for creating exceptional knives and this gent's tactical folder is no exception.
The drop point blade is formed from N690 stainless steel, created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. By satin finishing the grinds and mirror polishing the flats, George has emphasized his clean grind lines. The blade is nicely centered and silky smooth -- easily opened with one hand using the ambidextrous flipper toggle. The blade uses the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with no blade play.
Scales of red lightning strike carbon fiber form the handle. This type of carbon fiber is very hard to procure and is used in military fighter jets to deflect lightning while flying through storms. Zirconium bolsters are a nice accent and are dovetailed to the lightning strike carbon fiber scales for a perfect fit. Zirconium is a transitional metal that is primarily mined in South Africa and Australia. It is highly resistant to corrosion and scuffing. Anodized titanium liners keep the knife light and strong and surround a damascus steel backbar. A matching lightning strike carbon fiber pocket clip is mounted for right hand, tip up carry.
A gorgeous piece -- perfect to use and comfortable in any collection.
