Description: This stylish, unique, and one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art, is created by Washington artist Tom Sterling.
This pendant portrays a European cave painting motif inspired by the Lascaux Caves, which are the setting of a complex of caves in southwestern France famous for their Paleolithic cave paintings. Detailed images are shown of an elk and a human hand.
The engraving is done in the Japanese "shishiaibori" technique, consisting of extremely deep outlines and a bas-relief on the inside. This results in a long wearing engraving where all the details are protected below the surface of the pendant. This also allows the engravings to be viewed from any angle. The pendant is formed from grade 2 titanium, ensuring that the pendant is light and easy to wear. The elk's eye is inlaid with 24k gold.
The pendant is accompanied by a 20 inch leather cord with sterling silver hardware.
