Description: This exceptional Dha draws its influence from Eastern and Western styles. The deeply re-curved blade and perfect balance make it an exceptional cutter.
Mastersmith Michael Rader forged the blade to shape from 1"x1" square bar 1086 carbon steel. He truly shows his skill at the forge at its best. The integral bolster is quite hard to accomplish … moving from an integral bolster into such a large, yet nimble sword is exceptional! The blade has been antiqued using Wayne Goddard's "mustard" protective finish. This attractive finish helps prevent rust and makes the knife easy to maintain. By forging the blade to shape, Michael has assured exceptional strength and beauty. A mar quench during the heat treatment results in optimal edge retention.
The handle is formed from black locust burl and is completed with an end cap that combines maple burl and walnut burl. Michael's skill as a woodworker shows on this knife nearly as much as his skill at the forge.
The elegant presentation stand combines flame maple with rosewood.
Exceptional work throughout.
