Description: This chopper by Journeyman Smith Doug Campbell makes you want to go out into the wild and chop through some alders!
The blade was forged closely to shape. Dough created a forge-finish on the spine and near the top of the grind. A clear differential heat treatment line shows his devotion to the high performance knife. Below the line, this chopping blade is extremely hard, for a keen, long lasting edge. Above the line, the steel is softer so as to support the edge during hard use.
The bolster is integral, showing some serious skill at the forge. Both the blade and full tang are distal tapered, bringing the weight back toward the bolster. Ironwood scales are carved for a sure, comfortable grip.
Exceptional work throughout!
