Description: Canadian Bladesmith Mark Banfield created this exceptional, hand forged, hunting knife. The blade was forged from 1075 carbon steel and was differentially heat treated. The resulting blade has a soft, supportive spine, with an ultra-hard, long lasting cutting edge. The blade was then hand satin finished to 400 grit and lightly acid etched for an heirloom appearance.
Dark toned ziricote wood forms the handle and is secured with a central stainless steel pin. The wood was sanded to 600 grit and lightly buffed. It is nicely carved and fits comfortably in the hand. Accompanied by a tooled leather sheath. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
