Description: This is one of Jerry Fisk's "Military" knives. This is a relatively rare knife with fewer than six examples having been made. This knife has been in a private collection and has been meticulously cared for. By all appearances, Jerry could have made it yesterday!
The drop point blade is formed from 1084 carbon steel, forged to shape. A hand rubbed satin finish lends an heirloom quality. The blade features a differential heat treatment, ensuring a keen, long lasting edge matched with exceptional durability. The 416 stainless steel guard meets perfectly with both blade and Micarta handle. Two hidden bolt rivets and a lanyard hole complete the handle, which is sculpted so as to be tremendously comfortable. The knife is accompanied with a hand tooled leather sheath.
Designated a National Living Treasure by the University of North Carolina, Jerry has been recognized with just about every honor or award a knifemaker can receive. This includes, but is not limited to displays in multiple museums in America and Europe, as well as being a member of the American Bladesmith Hall of Fame. In his 25 years making knives, Jerry also helped develop a Bladesmithing School in San Paolo Brazil, received the Arkansas Governors Award for Traditional Arts and is the only Bladesmith to receive the William F. Moran Bladesmithing Award two times. Simply put, owning a Fisk knife is owning an important piece of knifemaking history. Currently Jerry no longer takes orders.
