Description: The Full Moon Integral Tanto was Don Carlos Andrade's response to a tactical knife. He decided to up the ante and make it an integral -- hand forged from a W1 rectangular round bar. This knife was close to five hours of forging time alone!
The handles are very rare vintage Westinghouse glass epoxy Micarta. When seen in bright sunlight, there is a flash of green at the edge of the layers of glass. At the center of the handle, Don inlaid a full moon formed from light toned vintage Westinghouse Micarta. The handle is nicely contoured to swell as it moves away from the bolster, moves into a slimmer waist, and swells again at the end. The surface is nicely textured.
The integral guard is inlaid with copper and engraved by Bill Rice of Morro Bay, CA. His work mirror the 'radiant star' motif Don Carols placed on the handle.
The knife is accompanied by a cross draw sheath nicely made and tooled by Paul Long. Excellent work throughout!
