Description: This exceptional folding knife was made by South African knifemaker Herucus Blomerus. A resident of Pretoria, Herucus (pronounced 'eh-roo-koos') has been a proud member of the South African Knifemakers Guild since 2005.
The drop point blade is formed from basketweave pattern stainless damascus. The flats are mirror polished, while the swedge and primary grind are etched to reveal the damascus pattern. The blade has been hollow ground for a keen edge.
The blade is easily opened with a simple flick of the flipper mechanism. The blade is well centered and has silky smooth action due to the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create smooth action with no blade play.
Carbon fiber scales meet perfectly to damascus bolsters. High contrast damascus bolsters nicely match the blade. Vine fileworked, blue anodized titanium liners keep this large, sturdy knife light and fast. A pierced titanium pocket clip is mounted for tip-up carry.
Herucus is clearly a maker to keep an eye out for - exceptional fit and finish throughout!
