Description: South African knifemaker Andre van Heerden creates an amazing folder -- and at a price that could never be found from an American handmade knife.
The blade is easily opened with a simple flick of the wrist or using flipper mechanism. The blade is well centered and has silky smooth action due to the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create smooth action with no blade play.
The drop blade is formed from N690 stainless steel, a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. 3D textured carbon fiber provides a sure, comfortable grip. Titanium liners and a carbon fiber backbar keep the knife light and fast. It is easy to keep this handmade folder close at hand with the machined carbon fiber pocket clip mounted for tip-up carry -- an incredible feature! Excellent fit and finish throughout!
