Description: Mastersmith Adam DesRosiers, alongside with his wife Haley, live off the grid in very remote rural Alaska. With no water or power available for 8 miles, aside from the sky, creek, or gas generator, these two truly live off of the land and create hand made pieces meant for serious use or collection!
This exceptional hunter is a hallmark of Adam's knifemaking. Both he and Haley feel that one of their goals as bladesmiths is to create knives that could not be made by stock removal -- knives that would have to be forged. This is clearly one such knife.
The blade along with integral guard and keyhole were forged to shape from Adam's own damascus. Creating integral knives shows off a bladesmith's work at its best and most precision. Creating an integral keyhole style knife show's their precision at a totally different level! The contrast between the heat blued damascus keyhole and inset maple burl is immediately captivating. The handle swells to fill the palm, moves into a slimmer waist and swells again at the pommel. It is tremendously comfortable in the hand.
This hunter is sure to be a shining star in any collection -- yet is designed to hold up to heavy use. It is accompanied by a very nice hand sewn leather sheath with a ostrich leather inlay.
Absolutely exceptional!
