Description: Erasing the lines between custom and manufactured, it is a matter of satisfying the ultimate desire. Whether it is embellishing existing designs to loftier heights, creating entirely new ones, or even crafting a one of a kind experience from a collector's wish list, Benchmade Gold Class clearly sets the new standard of knife manufacturing.
This is a Gold Edition of Benchmade's popular Mel Pardue model 531 folder. The spear-point blade is S90V and is coated with DLC (Diamond Like Coating), which is a super hard, scratch resistant, non-reflective, protective coating. Dual thumb studs make this a very easy to open knife. This knife also incorporates Benchmade's patented AXIS Lock mechanism, which in addition to being an exceptionally strong lock, it also helps make opening of the blade very fluid.
Contoured titanium scales have been DLC coated and sport dual Timascus inlays. Timascus is similar to damascus, but uses layers of titanium forged together rather than different steels. Titanium spacers separate the frame. A DLC coated stainless steel arrow clip is set up for tip-up carry. The clip can be easily switched to the opposite side for left hand carry.
This knife is individually numbered #13 of 70 pieces made.
