Description: Swedish bladesmith Roger Bergh forges one-of-a-kind sole authorship creations that have a timeless beauty and high attention to detail. This Snakeskin Bird and Trout does not fall short of Roger's reputation.
The mosaic damascus blade is a multi-bar composite. The edge was forged into a firecracker pattern from 20C and 15N20 carbon steels -- a combination that is visually striking while having excellent edge holding ability. The body of the blade was forged from snakeskin damascus -- the blade features a hollow grind for ease of sharpening and a clip point offers a detail-oriented tip.
Roger is particularly well known for his handle-work, where he uses particularly rare and exotic materials. The main section of the handle is formed from stag. Roger lightly shaped the handle for a comfortable fit in the hand while maintaining the stag's natural texture for a grip that will not falter. A spacer of ancient walrus ivory separates the stag from the sunken oak bolster -- recovered from a ship that had sunk over 300 years ago. Nickel silver spacers and a matching snakeskin damascus end cap complement the blade.
The knife is accompanied by a traditional tooled leather sheath -- Swedish sheaths are often just as beautifully crafted as the knives they hold! Excellent fit and finish throughout.
