Description: Tom Sterling hails from Washington State, and creates amazing works of art. He brings to life original and whimsical jewelry, knives, and other objects d'art.
This pendant is made by hand from solid bronze. From this, Tom has shaped, carved, and engraved a trilobite. Trilobites are a well-known fossil group of extinct marine arthropods. The first appearance of trilobites in the fossil record was 521 million years ago. They were among the most successful of all early animals, roaming the oceans for over 270 million years. Their fascinating shape makes them an excellent study for a piece of art.
This little guy has been forever carved into bronze, which was then antiqued, and now hangs on a 20-1/2 inch black leather cord. The pendant is completed with a textured sterling silver backing. His eyes are inlaid with Argentium silver, and the pendant is secured by a large ring of the same material. Argentium silver is more resistant to tarnishing than sterling, so his eyes will always be shiny and alert!
The pendant measures approximately 1.75 inches by 1.1 inches, and is .13 inches thick. Another excellent and unique item by Tom Sterling.
